Lafayette ranked #4 in AARP’s 2018 Most Livable Cities
AARP recently released their 2018 List of Most Livable Cities and ranked Lafayette as number four for cities with a population of 25,000-99,999. There are three lists based on size of the city for a total of thirty honorees. The list is based on forty criteria in seven categories: housing, neighborhood, transportation, environment, health, civic and social engagement, and opportunity for jobs. Boulder and Denver also made the top ten list in their respective categories of medium and large-sized cities. The list examines every community in the U.S. using more than fifty national data sources to score the cities.
“Lafayette has worked hard to create and maintain a desirable and inclusive community,” said Lafayette Mayor Christine Berg. “This AARP designation is timely as we continue our efforts to provide more affordable housing options and an opportunity for residents to age in place, transportation and walkability enhancements, and a healthier and more sustainable environment for everyone. We are proud to be listed as one of AARP’s most livable cities, and will continue to work hard to provide a great quality of life for all of our residents.”
Lafayette also recently celebrated their award-winning community center.
At Realty Ventures, we’ve always believed Lafayette is a great place to live, and this award only confirms that! If you’re interested in making Lafayette your home, check out our listings to see what is available.
