Your Guide To Local Fun: August 2018 | Realty VenturesThe last month of summer is already here, but that doesn’t mean that the fun has to end. We’ve got all the best events going on to make the most of the warm weather! Keep checking back as we continue to add more events.

 August 2, Thursday

Concert at The Laughing Goat: Lindsay White, 9PM
Lindsay White is an award-winning singer and songwriter based in San Diego. She’ll be performing hits from her most recent solo album Lights Out, a lyric-driven analysis on love and loss that will move you to tears and tear you to shreds.

Shrek: The Musical, 7-9PM
Enjoy this hilarious musical version of the beloved children's movie brought to life on stage.

August 3, Friday

Windows into Lafayette History, 6-8PM
You be the star in an interactive artistic journey through Lafayette history where every participant is invited to go back in time and imagine themselves as part of Lafayette's past.

Boulder County Fair opens
Enjoy extreme jousting, a petting zoo, games, activities booths, and more at this annual family favorite! Open until August 12.

August 4, Saturday

Concerts in the Park: FACE Vocal Band, 5-9PM
Make the most of the sunny weather and enjoy a free concert in the park! All concerts include an opening act from a local band, followed by the main event at 6:45PM.

August 5, Sunday

Lafayette Birds, 1-3PM
Learn from experienced birdwatchers during a fun afternoon at the Greenlee Wildlife Preserve. There will be binoculars, spotting scopes, and other necessary tools on hand, so all you need to bring is your curiosity!

August 7, Tuesday

Shake it up: Cocktails and cuisines, 6-9:30PM
This event, a fundraiser for the Boulder Food Film Festival, features cocktails, live jazz, and a live and silent auction, all combining to make a great night on the rooftop deck of Boulder Brands downtown. 

August 8, Wednesday

Final Bands on the Bricks, 6PM 

Bands on the Bricks is Boulder County's premier outdoor summer concert series taking place in the heart of the city on the bricks of the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall. Enjoy performances from the best local musicians along the front range while dancing under the stars, featuring an outdoor beer/margarita/wine garden that opens at 5:30PM.

August 9, Thursday

Bike the Farms, 4 & 6PM
Join this family-friendly tour of Lafayette's agricultural scene. The half-hour tour includes Isabelle Farm, the Wilson Community Garden, and the Lafayette Farmer's Market. 

August 10, Friday

Art Night Out, 5-9PM
The second-to-last Art Night Out of this season is coming up soon! Come enjoy downtown Lafayette as it's taken over by local artists, street performers, and the band The Savage Hearts playing live music. 

Erie Downtown Neighborhood Block Party, 6PM
Enjoy a night on the town full of local bands, food, wine, beer, and kid-friendly activities. This week live music will be performed by Nika Garcia.

Second Fridays, 6-9PM
Explore Longmont's Creative District downtown featuring gallery openings, restaurant specials, and activities both indoors and out. See what's new and join the excitement!

August 12, Sunday

Boulder County Fair Last Day
Enjoy extreme jousting, a petting zoo, games, activities booths, and more at this annual family favorite! Today is your last chance to experience the county fair!

August 18, Saturday

Boulder Craft Beer Festival, 1-5PM 
For the fifth year, the festival brings together the best craft breweries and a handful of local cideries from Boulder County and beyond for a tasting festival, offering attendees samples of the best beer on the Front Range. The festival includes music, lawn games and food for purchase. Tickets are required for entry and range from $35-$50, or a $10 designated driver ticket.

19th Annual Peach Festival, 9AM-4PM
The festival features world-renowned Palisade, CO peaches. Enjoy all things peaches, from cobblers to smoothies and everything in between. Food vendors, crafters, and antique dealers will be there, plus some of the finest artists from the Front Range and Western States will be showcased. The festival also includes plenty of activities for children.

Canvas Carnival, 4-9PM
A collaborative event between the Firehouse Art Center and ArtWalk Longmont. Discover local artists and create art of your own at this family-friendly interactive art event!

August 22, Wednesday

Tulip Bulb Giveaway, 9AM
If you want to add some color to your yard next spring, get a free bag of tulip bulbs courtesy of the Boulder Parks and Recreation department!

August 24, Friday
Movies in the Park (Lafayette), Dusk
Grab a lawn chair or blanket and gather the family to enjoy a movie under the stars! Featuring the hit Pixar movie Cars 3. Food trucks will be onsite to get your snack fix.

Better Together: Billie Martinez Neighborhood Celebration, 4:30-7:30PM
For the fourth year in a row, come enjoy food, drinks, games, crazy bikes, and special guests. Also, enjoy guided bike tours. Bring your bike or borrow from their bike fleet.

August 25, Saturday

Movie in the Park (Erie), 8:30PM
Enjoy the nice weather and spend time with your family as you watch the hit Pixar movie, Cars 3. Don't be late--before the movie there will be themed activities and crafts!

Comedy Night at Indian Peaks, 6-10PM
Be amazed as the golf course is transformed into a pop-up comedy club featuring Chris Voth, with an opening act by Stephanie McHugh. Dinner and dessert are included in the ticket price.

August 26, Sunday

Hidden Stories of Waneka Lake, 4-5:30PM
Discover the history of Waneka Lake and all the stories it has to tell with naturalist Martin Ogle as your guide. An easy 1.5 mile walking tour will explore the stories of pioneers and power plants; wildlife and waterways; and farming.

August 25-26, Saturday-Sunday

Great Erie Outdoor Adventure, 12PM
Spend the day exploring the outdoor with your family at this beloved annual event! Camp outside and enjoy activities like a paddleboard tank, candy bar bingo, a climbing wall, and more. Enjoy a night out under the stars, including attending the Movie in the Park! Registration required beforehand.
